I wrote my first theatrical score at fourteen. Since then, one thing never changed: my fascination with musical storytelling.
Over the years I explored many instruments and genres – piano, electric guitar, electronic music – but everything ultimately led me back to what feels like home: orchestral music. I studied composition for film at the Zurich University of the Arts, where I focused on orchestration, dramatic structure and conducting. Masterclasses with Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, Don Davis and others shaped my artistic voice, but never replaced it. Today I compose orchestral scores that combine emotional clarity, long-form dramaturgy and a distinctly personal sound. My work spans feature films, documentaries and concert music — always driven by the same intention: to serve the story with honesty and depth. I’m also co-founder of the label sàd-records. |
David is a composer who finds his own language for each film.
In each of his works there is a surprising idea that binds the viewer/listener emotionally to the film.
In addition, in David's work you can also feel his closeness to songwriting, which gives his scores a strong melodic quality.
